Growing in Faith
We offer a range of opportunities for people to grow and deepen their faith, through study groups, courses, or fellowship groups. This year they are:
Men’s Breakfast
This regular gathering for all-comers (male) explores issues of Christian Faith in the modern world, and features speakers who have made their mark in both their vocation and faith. The meetings are held every 4-6 weeks at the Day’s Bay Pavilion, 7.00am – 7.40am (ending in time for commuters to catch the bus or ferry). Just roll up on the day. Watch for the noticeboard at Pt Howard, or an alert on this website.
Christian Walk
This group of women meets monthly to offer support and encouragement to each another, study the Scriptures, and undertake occasional projects - last year’s was a Garden Tour of selected Eastbourne & Bays properties as part of the centenary celebrations.
Study Groups
As well as the various groups that meet on a regular basis, other short courses are held through the year, including an annual Lenten Study Group and a winter series on a topical issue.
Adult Way of Faith
From late October to the end of Easter weekly meetings are held for adults preparing for Baptism, or wanting to reaffirm their own baptism in Confirmation or Renewal.
SAGE
Anyone can come along to the St Alban's green group (St Alban's God's Earth) which meets every two months at 11 a.m. on Sundays. Recent projects include assessing the parish's ecological footprint and recommending steps to minimise it, raising awareness of local and regional environmental issues, and supporting the development of the community garden on the church's property.
For further information about any of the above groups, contact The Ven Damon Plimmer redflipper@xtra.co.nz or The Parish Office stalbansch@xtra.co.nz.
