About Us

A short ferry ride across the harbour from Wellington City, St Alban’s Anglican Church is one of the prettiest churches in the region set in lovely garden surroundings only a stone’s throw from the beach in the picturesque seaside suburb of Eastbourne.

St Alban’s is a very busy church community with 3 services each week and activities ranging from “Pop in and Play” to fellowship groups to thought provoking theological study groups. Our children’s ministry caters for preschoolers to teenagers, and we offer an adult course (catechumenate) leading to Baptism and/or Confirmation. Strong ecumenical links with the local Catholic and Presbyterian congregations were forged in the early days of Eastbourne’s settlement and continue today, and community services such as Ezee meals, the community vegetable garden and weekly playgroup operate from our parish hall.

Members of the congregation have a variety of talents and parish activities reflect that. Visitors are welcome any time whether to join our services or to simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings in the presence of God.

We are part of the Belmont Archdeaconry in the Anglican Diocese of Wellington, one of the seven dioceses in the Anglican Church of Aotearoa, New Zealand & Polynesia
